Working With Parents

Working With Parents

Since 2006, the award-winning Impact in Learning programme has been engaging with parents in schools nationally to assist them to support their children in their home learning more effectively.

We provide Maths and English workshop training to schools on how to engage with parents more effectively.

Schools can choose from our range of maths and English packages which offer them workshop materials and 5 weeks worth of homework materials to engage parents and raise attainment.

There is nothing more effective that schools can do to raise attainment for pupils than to empower their parents to support them in their learning at home.

Professor Charles Desforges, OBE (2017)

Our award-winning Parental Engagement Programmes have been run in over 760 schools to date in England, Wales and the Isle of Man.

With ready-made packages in Writing, Phonics, Reading and Maths schools find it easier to engage parents effectively in ways that help their children to catch up and progress in their learning.

The usual In-Service training for schools follows a pattern similar to the one below:

1

One of our expert consultants leads staff training in your school This could be a 90-minute twilight session or half-day INSET.

2

Choose from the range of Phonics, Reading, Writing or Maths packs to be delivered with your families (to suit their learning needs).

3

You, your staff, or a member of our team runs the live session with parents and children together (can be a model to other staff for their delivery)

4

Run the homework programme for 5 weeks using the materials provided in the teacher packs. Parents support learning for 10 minutes per day at home.
